उत्तर भारत में पड़ रही कड़ाके की ठंड और शीत लहर ने आम जनजीवन को बेहाल कर रखा है।
कड़ाके की सर्दी आम जनमानस के स्वास्थ्य को भी गंभीर रूप से प्रभावित कर रही है। ऐसे में आम लोगों को शीत लहर से बचाव और उनके प्रबंधन से संबंधित विषय पर एक जन-जागरूकता कार्यक्रम का आयोजन शुक्रवार को एम्स पटना के जनरल मेडिसिन विभाग की तरफ से ओपीडी कॉम्प्लेक्स में किया गया।
केंद्रीय स्वास्थ्य एवं परिवार कल्याण मंत्रालय (निदेशक, एनसीडीसी) के निर्देशानुसार इस जन-जागरूकता कार्यक्रम का आयोजन किया गया।
यह कार्यक्रम कार्यकारी निदेशक प्रो. (ब्रिगेडियर) डॉ. राजू अग्रवाल के दूरदर्शी नेतृत्व में संपन्न हुआ।
कार्यक्रम का शुभारंभ जनरल मेडिसिन विभाग के अध्यक्ष एवं रजिस्ट्रार प्रो. (डॉ.) ज्योति प्रकाश के स्वागत भाषण से हुआ, जिसमें उन्होंने शीत लहर के विभिन्न दुष्परिणामों जैसे हाइपोथर्मिया, हृदयाघात, स्ट्रोक आदि पर विस्तार से प्रकाश डाला।
कार्यकारी निदेशक महोदय ने रोगियों एवं उनके परिजनों को संबोधित करते हुए इस जन-जागरूकता कार्यक्रम को आम जनता तक व्यापक रूप से पहुँचाने पर बल दिया। उन्होंने रोगियों एवं उनके परिजनों से संवाद भी किया तथा इस विषय पर अपने बहुमूल्य विचार साझा किए।
कार्यक्रम में प्रो. (डॉ.) चंद्र मोहन कुमार, विभागाध्यक्ष, बाल रोग विभाग ने बच्चों में शीत लहर की रोकथाम एवं प्रबंधन पर अपने विचार प्रस्तुत किए। वहीं डॉ. आनंद कुमार राय, विभागाध्यक्ष, न्यूरोलॉजी ने वर्तमान शीत लहर की स्थिति में स्ट्रोक के बढ़ते मामलों पर चिंता व्यक्त की। इसके अतिरिक्त प्रो. (डॉ.) अमित राज, कार्यवाहक चिकित्सा अधीक्षक ने भी आम जनता के बीच अपने विचार साझा किए।
जनरल मेडिसिन विभाग के विभिन्न संकाय सदस्यों जैसे डॉ. अंजनी कुमार, डॉ. नरेंद्र कुमार एवं डॉ. संजीव कुमार ने भी इस विषय पर अपने विचार रखे। कार्यक्रम में जनरल मेडिसिन विभाग के रेजिडेंट चिकित्सकों, नर्सिंग अधिकारियों एवं पैरामेडिकल स्टाफ की भी सक्रिय भागीदारी रही।
समाज में जागरूकता बढ़ाने के उद्देश्य से “शीत लहर के दौरान क्या करें एवं क्या न करें” विषय पर लगभग 100 पंपलेट रोगियों एवं उनके परिजनों के बीच वितरित किए गए। उम्मीद की जानी चाहिए कि इस तरह के जागरूकता कार्यक्रमों से लोगों में शीतलहर से बचने और अपनी सेहत का ख्याल रखने में उन्हें काफी मदद मिल पाएगी।
As per directives of central ministry of health & family welfare (Director, NCDC), an “Awareness Program on Prevention and Management of Cold Wave” which is prevailing currently in northern parts of India affecting badly the health of the general public, was organized on 09.01.2026 in the department of General Medicine, OPD complex, AIIMS Patna, under the visionary leadership of executive director Prof.(Brig.) Dr. Raju Agarwal.
The program began with the welcome speech of the Head of General Medicine and Registrar Prof. (Dr.) Jyoti Prakash who emphasized on the various consequences of cold wave such as hypothermia, heart attack, stroke etc.
The executive director emphasized on the spread of this awareness program to the general public by addressing the patients & their attendants. He also interacted with patients and their attendants and gave his valuable insight on this topic.
In this program, Prof (Dr) Chandra Mohan Kumar, HoD Paediatrics spoke about prevention & management of cold wave in children. Dr Anand Kumar Rai, HoD Neurology emphasized on the increasing number of stroke patients due to prevailing cold wave situation and Prof.(Dr) Amit Raj, officiating Medical Superintendent also shared his views among public.
Various faculties of department of General Medicine such as Dr Anjani Kumar, Dr Narendra Kumar, Dr Sanjeev Kumar also put their views on this topic. In this program, residents, nursing officers & para medical staffs of the department of general medicine also participated.
Around 100 pamphlets on “Do’s & Don’ts about cold wave” were distributed among the patients and their attendants as a part of increasing awareness in the society.
